Summer Hill cold pressed pumpkin seed oil is a lovely dark green, with a mild nutty flavour. Swap out olive oil and add Pumpkin Seed Oil for a new taste and visual sensation. Ideal for salad dressings and aioli, drizzling over cooked meat, roast veggies or pasta and is great for baking. Use as a lovely dipping oil to go with dukkha. It has a low smoke point so is not suitable for frying.
Cold pressing means that the oil is pressed from 100% ground pumpkin seeds, unrefined, with nothing taken out or added.
When seen through a glass container or in volume the oil appears red in colour! This is called ‘dichromatic’ and is a fabulous feature of pure pumpkin seed oil. Well known in Austria, Germany and Italy, pumpkin seed oil is highly prized and regarded for it’s flavour and versatility. Now we have our own New Zealand version of this wonderful oil, nutty flavoured and visually appealing.
Pumpkin seed oil is packed with goodness and is suitable for any vegetarian or vegan recipes. The absence of trans fatty acids, cholesterol and sugar add to its health benefits.
Available in 250ml bottles.
Store in a cool dark place and can be refrigerated , after opening, to retain its freshness and quality.
