100+ years of expertise

Our sales support the traditional livelihoods of villagers in rural Sri Lanka. With the knowledge and expertise of multi generations, fruit and spice millers harvest our fruits and spices by traditional methods to retain their natural potency and flavour.  These traditional production methods allow village populations to utilise their ancient wisdom and expertise to survive in this modernised and mechanised world of manufacture by producing this 100% natural unrefined product. Backed by generations of expertise of the harvesters and packed in a certified ISO and Organic processing mill, spice production plays a vital role in the rural village community’s employment, welfare, and well-being. This mill also organises religious and cultural events to inculcate a sense of belonging to a bigger cause, bringing a sense of pride and community to the villagers using age-old knowledge, treading lightly, and making a living for their families sustainably.

Price for quality

Heirloom products are made in small special batches for the Kiwi market. Specifically not mass-manufactured in massive commercial factories. So we do not enjoy the economies of scale that supermarket brands do. Instead, we pay the millers and farmers a fair price. Multigenerational expertise and knowledge guide the making of every Heirloom & Earthlady product. This easily justifies the premium price for the premium quality you are getting.

Packaging and recycling

30g, soft plastic. Dispose of the soft plastic bag in the supermarket collection bin.

A simple method to make soursop leaf tea.

Here’s a simple method to prepare the tea:
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon of loose, coarse-cut dry soursop leaves.
2 cups of water
Optional: sweetener of your choice (e.g., honey, sugar, or stevia) to taste

Instructions:

1. Boil the water: Bring 2 cups to a boil in a saucepan or kettle.
2. Add the soursop leaves: Once the water reaches a rolling boil, add one tablespoon of loose, coarse-cut dry soursop-leaf to the boiling water.
3. Simmer the leaves: Reduce the heat to low and let the soursop leaves simmer in the water for 10 to 15 minutes. This simmering process will allow the beneficial compounds from the leaves to infuse into the water and create the tea.
4. Strain the tea: After simmering, remove the saucepan and strain the tea to remove the soursop leaves. You can use a fine mesh strainer or a tea infuser. Alternatively, pour the tea through a coffee filter to get a clearer tea.
5. Sweeten to taste (optional): Add a sweetener to the strained soursop leaf tea if desired. Honey, sugar, or stevia are commonly used sweeteners, but you can adjust the amount to suit your taste preferences.
6. Serve and enjoy: Pour the soursop leaf tea into a cup and enjoy it while it’s still warm. You can also chill the tea in the refrigerator if you prefer to have it cold.

Remember that soursop leaf tea is generally considered safe when consumed in moderation. However, if you have any underlying health conditions or are taking medications, it’s best to consult with a healthcare professional before adding soursop-leaf tea to your diet. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should exercise caution and seek medical advice before consuming herbal teas.
