Description
ABOUT:
Lotus Celtic Sea Salt in Coarse & Fine grey sea salt comes from the North West of France.
This gourmet Celtic Salt has been hand harvested by Artisans on the shores of Guerande, France.
These delicate sun dried moist crystals remain unwashed and completely natural with nothing added and nothing removed.
HARVESTING:
The ocean water is channelled daily into shallow clay ponds, edged with natural waterways and wild grasses. The wind and sun evaporate the sea water, leaving a rich brine. The live flowing mixture is then briskly stimulated by the local salt framer’s actions, and within hours the sparkling crystals form and are delicately gathered with long wooden tools.
This ancient time honoured method of harvesting ensures a pure refined, fully mineralised , well balanced Sea Salt of the highest potency. Our Celtic Sea salt remains unwashed and 100% natural with nothing added and nothing removed.
Lotus Hand-Harvested coarse sea salt crystals are 100% natural and Chemical free. This fully mineralised moist sea salt is of the highest potency containing minerals and natural trace elements essential to the body’s daily needs (Typical Analysis).
The good salt breaks down the complex carbohydrates of grains and vegetables for better digestion. Fully mineralised natural salt does not create thirst and assists in hydration.
Using Celtic Sea Salt
METHODS OF USE
Waterless Cooking – Cut vegetables to desired size and shape, place in a heavy base saucepan. Sprinkle with a little Hand Harvested Sea Salt and add enough water to cover the bottom of the pan. Simmer gently with lid on until water has evaporated and vegetables are tender. Hand Harvested Sea Salt brings the water out of the vegetables so they cook in their own juices.
Decanting a Water Solution – Prepare a solution of salt by putting 4 level tablespoons of Hand Harvested Sea Salt crystals in one litre of cold water, stir, then allow to settle for 8 hours. Let the rich mineral sediment settle on the bottom. Gently pour off the top liquid until all clear liquid has been gathered. Suitable for salad dressings, pancakes and wok cooking. The rich clay mineral sediment can be stored separately and used as “poultice” for cuts & bruises.
