A simple method to make soursop leaf tea.
Here’s a simple method to prepare the tea:
1 tablespoon of loose, coarse-cut dry soursop leaves.
2 cups of water
Optional: sweetener of your choice (e.g., honey, sugar, or stevia) to taste
1. Boil the water: Bring 2 cups to a boil in a saucepan or kettle.
2. Add the soursop leaves: Once the water reaches a rolling boil, add one tablespoon of loose, coarse-cut dry soursop-leaf to the boiling water.
3. Simmer the leaves: Reduce the heat to low and let the soursop leaves simmer in the water for 10 to 15 minutes. This simmering process will allow the beneficial compounds from the leaves to infuse into the water and create the tea.
4. Strain the tea: After simmering, remove the saucepan and strain the tea to remove the soursop leaves. You can use a fine mesh strainer or a tea infuser. Alternatively, pour the tea through a coffee filter to get a clearer tea.
5. Sweeten to taste (optional): Add a sweetener to the strained soursop leaf tea if desired. Honey, sugar, or stevia are commonly used sweeteners, but you can adjust the amount to suit your taste preferences.
6. Serve and enjoy: Pour the soursop leaf tea into a cup and enjoy it while it’s still warm. You can also chill the tea in the refrigerator if you prefer to have it cold.
