HAPPY HENHOUSE BETTER THAN BUTTER CHICKEN

Happy Henhouse Better Than Butter Chicken is a delicious and nutritious twist on the classic Indian dish, incorporating plant-based protein to replace traditional chicken.

The recipe combines marinated Happy Henhouse plant-based protein with a luscious tomato-based sauce, aromatic spices, and plant-based alternatives like vegan butter and cream for a flavorful and satisfying plant-powered version of butter chicken.

Ingredients

Serves 4
  • 200g hydrated Happy Henhouse Diced Protein
  • 485g Jar Butter Chicken Sauce or curry sauce of your choice
  • 1⅔ cups / 200g Green Beans, trimmed & halved
  • ¾ tablespoons Cocavo Hot Wok Oil
  • ½ Brown Onion, finely diced
  • 2 Garlic Cloves, finely chopped
  • Salt and Pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups Jasmine Rice

Instructions

Preparation

Step 1 – Finely dice garlic & onions.
Step 2 – Heat 3-4 tablespoons of oil in pan over medium to high heat.
Step 3 – Batch cook hydrated protein, frequently tossing until browned.
Step 4 – When proteins are golden brown, toss in ¼ teaspoon of garlic and mix for an extra flavour boost.
Step 5 – Season with salt and pepper. Set aside.

‍Sauce

Step 1 – In same pan, add 2 tablespoons of oil and heat over medium heat.
Step 2 – Add finely diced onion and garlic. Cook for 1 minute, stirring well.
Step 3 -Add butter chicken sauce to pan and heat for 1 minute.

Combine Ingredients

Step 1 – Add cooked proteins and halved green beans to pan with sauce.
Step 2 – Allow mixture to simmer for 10 minutes
Step 3 – Serve Better Butter Chicken with green beans over rice or your preferred side.
