SMOKEY HOT HONEY CHICKEN
If you have a sweet tooth & also love spicy foods, Cocavo’s Devil’s Drizzle Hot Honey will quickly become a pantry staple after you have cooked this delicious chicken recipe. We have used Devil’s Drizzle Smoked Chilli Hot Honey as the smokiness adds another layer of flavour to the dish. If you do not want the smokiness, then substitute for Devil’s Drizzle Sriracha Hot Honey.
Ingredients
- 1/4 to 1/2 Kg chicken tenders or sliced chicken breast / thigh
- Marlborough sea salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons Cocavo Olive Oil, or Cocavo Hot Wok (divided)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/3 cup Devil’s Drizzle Smoked Chilli Hot Honey
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- garnish with chopped coriander or sprinkle with sesame seeds (optional)
Method
-
Cook the chicken:
Dry the chicken with a paper towel and season with salt and pepper.
Heat a frying pan or skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of Cocavo Olive Oil or Hot Wok Oil. Once hot, add chicken and cook until golden brown on both sides. Continue cooking until the chicken is just cooked through. Once just cooked, remove the chicken to a plate and cover with tin foil.
-
Make the sauce:
Add the remaining tablespoon of oil and the garlic to the frying pan and fry the garlic until fragrant. This will only take about 30 seconds. Add the apple cider vinegar and Hot Honey and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Allow to simmer until the sauce thickens slightly.
-
Finishing steps:
Stir in the Worcestershire sauce and add the cooked chicken back to the frying pan. Spoon the sauce over the chicken and garnish with coriander & sesame seeds, if desired. For additional heat & sweetness, drizzle extra Hot Honey over the finished dish.
